  • Barclay Berdan, CEO, Texas Health Resources – Named to Modern Healthcare’s “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” list in 2016, Berdan served as chair of the United Way of Tarrant County 2016-2017 campaign.   • Mitch Morris, Executive Vice President, OptumInsight – Dr. Morris has more than 30 years of healthcare experience in consulting, health care administration, technology and clinical care. During his academic career, he received international recognition as a leading clinician, researcher and educator.
  • Kathy Powell, CEO, Petaluma Community Health Center – Powell also serves on the Board of Commissioners of Partnership Health Plan of California, Petaluma Valley Hospital, and the Redwood Community Health Coalition, and will be recognized as a 2017 HIMSS Davies Enterprise Award recipient at the 2018 HIMSS Global Conference & Exhibition

On Wednesday, March 7 from 12:30 – 2:00 pm PST, attendees will hear from Frans van Houten, CEO, Philips. With nearly 35 years of experience, van Houten is respected internationally as a healthcare and informatics executive with areas of expertise in mhealth, product development, integrated care models, marketing, distribution, information technology and innovation implementation. Reflecting on the healthcare innovation landscape, van Houten discusses how health informatics are being applied at the point of care to support optimized care pathways that are more precise, personalized and predictive. Also, sharing key lessons and best practice to help care providers navigate their digital transformation.

In addition, HIMSS CEO & President, Hal Wolf will sit down for a fireside chat with Paul Krugman, an American economist, Distinguished Professor of Economics at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, columnist for The New York Times, and Nobel Prize Awardee in Economic Sciences. The discussion will center around the economy and the impending global impacts on healthcare. The question at hand: “How much longer can this economic calm last? And what happens when it ends?”
