HIMSS Awaiting Response from Democratic Candidates after Super Tuesday

Understanding that 2020 is an election year — and perhaps one of the most important in the history of U.S. health policy — HIMSS has invited President Donald J. Trump and the Democratic candidates to speak at the Global Health Conference and Exhibition (HIMSS20) to ensure the healthcare community is well informed on the policies that are critical to the future of healthcare innovation in the U.S.

For nearly 20 years, HIMSS has worked hard to develop relationships with the executive and legislative branches of the U.S. government. HIMSS and its members make up 80,000 globally, with an abundance of individuals in the U.S. healthcare population, and represent 480 provider organizations, 470 non-profit partners and 650 health services organizations. It is vital that HIMSS membership, partners, attendees and staff hear their perspectives.

HIMSS’s Government Relations team has had continuous contact with all the candidates over the past few months. Yesterday, it was announced that President Donald J. Trump would be speaking at HIMSS20. He is slated to speak on Monday, March 9, with an anticipated start time of 4 p.m. ET.

HIMSS is looking forward to receiving responses from the Democratic candidates regarding their participation. Updates will be shared with the healthcare community as soon as possible.
