Celebrating the Next Generation of Healthcare Leaders

In an industry that is ever changing yet timeless in its relevance, the importance of supporting educational growth for the incoming workforce is so imperative, the future of healthcare depends on it.

From newcomers to experienced veterans in the field, HIMSS values the growth of members at all stages of their career. Recognizing that the right training and opportunities are integral to prepare our incoming workforce for the future, HIMSS provides a multitude of resources to support the academic, career, and personal growth of all members, including professional development groups within the association such as the HIMSS Early Careerists Community.

By providing up-to-date resources like virtual webinars, career fairs, mock interviews, certification prep courses and industry networking meet-ups, HIMSS’s professional development communities have empowered countless members to achieve their maximum growth potential.

One way HIMSS gives back to members who are focused on educational and career growth is through the support of the HIMSS Foundation, the philanthropic arm of HIMSS. Every year, the HIMSS Foundation grants scholarships to members who have demonstrated their commitment and potential to thrive as future leaders in our community. Established in 1986, the HIMSS Foundation has awarded nearly $500,000 in scholarships to hundreds of students.

HIMSS Foundation

As the philanthropic arm of HIMSS, the HIMSS Foundation promotes health information and technology education and issue awareness on global and national levels. It provides educational opportunities and financial assistance to students, education to government employees and industry leaders, data and reports to academics and governments, and financial assistance for special projects.
