Mr. Wellman is a principal responsible for leading transformation projects within the Healthcare Transformation Services business of Philips Healthcare. Bill brings over 30 years of experience assisting academic medical centers and integrated healthcare delivery networks in organization transformation, process improvement, and information technology strategy.
He joined Philips in 2014. Prior to joining Philips, Bill held leadership positions in several consulting and startup organizations. With years of population health experience, he has assisted organizations in the development and deployment of population health solutions in the US, Europe, and Australia.
Bill has managed process improvement departments that helped healthcare providers improve their operational effectiveness and quality of care. He has worked with organizations like the Institute for Healthcare Improvement as a member of performance improvement teams and taught performance improvement for JCAHO.
He is currently an adjunct faculty member at Harvard University, teaching a course in innovation and entrepreneurship. He also teaches a course in healthcare informatics at Endicott College in Beverly, MA.
He holds a master’s in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan and a BA in social science from Michigan State University.
