Vinay Vaidya, MD has served as vice president and chief medical informatics officer at Phoenix Children’s Hospital since 2009. He is board certified in general pediatrics as well as pediatric critical care and has more than 20 years of clinical experience. During the last 15 years, Dr. Vaidya has focused on the development, implementation and dissemination of innovative clinical information technology solutions aimed at improving the safety, quality and efficiency of medical care at the local and national levels. He has published a number of articles and received several grants and patents in the area of medical informatics. He is a frequently invited speaker at national and international conferences on healthcare information technology. In his current role, Vaidya oversees the clinical information technology transformation at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and is responsible for strategic planning and the selection and implementation of clinical information systems. He provides expertise to help clinicians adopt and use IT to tackle some of healthcare’s most challenging issues involving quality, safety and efficiency of clinical workflow.
