Dr. Tania Tajirian is Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) inaugural Chief Medical Information Officer. In her role as the Medical Head of the Hospitalist Service, she has undertaken many initiatives to advance the medical care of patients with severe mental illness (SMI). She currently holds the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and has a fellowship designation from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Through many medical informatics initiatives, Dr. Tajirian has implemented positive hospital-wide changes via engagement of multiple stakeholders in order to achieve inter-disciplinary goals of improving patient care.  Since the launch of CAMH’s EHR (I-CARE) five years ago, she has led the streamlining of I-CARE protocols and the design and implementation of new electronic clinical tools and processes, such as clozapine induced myocarditis monitoring.  Dr. Tajirian was instrumental in helping CAMH achieve both HIMSS stage 6 and 7, and most recently the prestigious HIMSS Enterprise Davies Award. She is also a physician wellness liaison, she strives to celebrate excellence and foster a culture of wellbeing within CAMH.Femme
