Shawn Wang is the vice president of Data Science, responsible for driving research, development and transformative analytics activities for Anthem’s Health Care Analytics organization. This includes big data and data science applications across Anthem analytic functions, including risk adjustment, program integrity, provider and consumer analytics, and more. He has proven experience building successful analytics teams, developing data-driven strategies, applying advanced analytics to solve enterprise challenges and driving process changes to deliver results.
Prior to joining Anthem in August 2015, Shawn was with Sears Holdings Corporation, most recently leading the company's enterprise analytics function. In this role, he built a team of 200+ from the ground-up to implement analytics programs that transformed traditional marketing to personalized digital marketing.
Shawn led a “one view of the customer” initiative for the company that integrated all customer data points, including profile, interactions and external data points for 100M+ customers into a single member profile platform. Additionally, he implemented real-time scoring and targeting platforms to enable personalized customer experiences across channels (online, home, in-store and mobile). In his tenure with Sears, Shawn held roles as vice president of marketing and customer analytics and chief financial officer (CFO) for loyalty marketing and IT.
Shawn holds a Master’s degree in Information Management from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Management. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
