Dr. Sarika Aggarwal, MD, MHCM is a board-certified internist with extensive experience developing population health management strategies and programs, redesigning health care delivery systems, and improving quality and efficiency of patient services.
As Chief Medical Officer of Beth Israel Deaconess Care Organization (BIDCO), an Accountable Care Organization, Sarika leads the organization’s clinical vision. In this role, she provides medical oversight, expertise, and leadership to ensure BIDCO delivers high-quality health care services and innovative population health management and quality programs and tools to its diverse physician and hospital network.
Sarika is a practicing internist with more than 20 years’ experience and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UMass Medical School. She has also served as Medical Director of the Office of Clinical Integration at UMass Memorial Health Care where she worked to help UMass attain the capabilities of an Accountable Care Organization. She sits on several boards and has served as a mentor for entrepreneurial start-up companies.
Prior to joining BIDCO, Sarika was Senior Vice President of Population Health and Chief Medical Officer at xG Health Solutions, a subsidiary of Geisinger Health System. At xG Health Solutions, she led a team of clinicians who leveraged Geisinger Health System best practices to work with clients on clinical delivery redesign. Sarika previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Fallon Health where she led medical management for all lines of business.
Sarika completed her medical residency in internal medicine at UMass Memorial, earned her medical degree from Grant Medical College of Bombay University, and received her Master’s in Healthcare Management from Harvard University. In 2014, she was named one of the Worcester Business Journal’s “Business Women of the Year.”
