Bob Kolodgy is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), a national federation of 36 independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) companies. The BCBS System is the nation's largest health insurer, covering one in three Americans. Kolodgy is responsible for the Federal Employee Program (FEP), which covers more than 5.5 million members across all 50 states and abroad. He oversees the National Employee Benefits Administration, which manages $14 billion in retirement plan assets for 38 participating BCBS entities nationwide. In addition, he has overall accountability for BCBS Brand management, including brand strategy and protection, as well as BCBSA’s finance, licensure, enterprise information technology and information security areas. He also has administrative responsibility for three venture investment funds totaling $575 million in committed capital from more than 33 BCBS entities. These funds invest in promising emerging companies of strategic relevance to BCBS companies. Among professional and civic affiliations, he is President of Blue Venture Partners II, LP, Chair of the Board of the Plan Investment Fund, Inc., and serves on the Blue Health Intelligence Board and the National Employee Benefits Committee. He is a founding board member of Sewhope, an Ohio-based non-profit group working to improve health in Guatemala, and former chairman of the Board of Trustees for Notre Dame Academy. Kolodgy earned a bachelor’s degree from Miami University and an M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, magna cum laude. He is a lifetime member of Beta Gamma Sigma.
