Completed Masters in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University and joined ECRI Institute in 2008. Is currently a senior project engineer with the Health Devices Group. Primary responsibilities includes evaluating and testing medical technologies, investigating device and system failures and providing consultation support to ECRI Institute member hospitals on pre-purchase, selection and safe use of medical technologies and systems. Also collaborated with ECRI Institute's Patient Safety Organization to analyze the efficiency of Health-IT event reporting. Areas of expertise include integration of medical devices with hospital information systems, secondary alarm notification, remote viewing solutions, Health-IT usability issues and patient monitoring technologies. In addition to comparative hand-on testing, have also authored several guidance articles on medical device integration, cybersecurity and safe alarm notification practices.
