Rajan Chandras is an experienced data management professional and thought leader with over 20 years of strong track record in delivering complex, cross-enterprise analytic initiatives. In his current position Rajan has responsibilities in areas of data strategy, data architecture, master and reference data management, metadata management, data quality, data governance, and "big data". Among other major accomplishments, he has championed an enterprise data lake vision for use of research and performance analytics and successfully led the implementation of a robust, secure, governed data lake using Hadoop; defined vision and strategy for technology-enabled enterprise data governance, and led the implementation of an innovative data governance software for business vocabularies, metadata/lineage and reference data management; and has implemented an industry-leading solution for provider and faculty master data management.
Rajan has nearly 150 edited contributions to well-known industry publications. He has presented and participated in panel discussions at leading industry and research events and conferences including the American Medical Informatics Association Informatics Summit (AMIA), the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC-GIR), and the MDM-Data Governance Summit.
Rajan has M.S. in Computer Science (Georgia Institute of Technology, USA) and M.Sc. in Physics (India), as well as certification in project management (PMP). He lives in Edison, New Jersey.
