Rachel Cyrus MD, SFHM, FACP is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine where she has been the Clinical Practice Director since 2012. She currently serves as Key Medical Director for the Department of Medicine. In 2017 she was recognized by the ACP as one of their 10 top hospitalists. Graduating with a dual major in engineering from Duke University, Dr. Cyrus then attended Rush University School of Medicine where she received her medical degree in 2005. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Utah prior to joining the faculty of Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in 2008. Dr. Cyrus has a particular interest in quality improvement including throughput, and has been recognized at Northwestern for projects around reducing readmissions and length of stay. She has spoken regionally and nationally on throughput and interdisciplinary communication.
