Dr. Philip Herschman is a national behavioral healthcare expert with over 40 years of operational and clinical experience in the industry. Dr. Herschman currently serves as the Chief Clinical Officer of AiR Healthcare Solutions and consults with healthcare investors and operators. Prior to his current role, Dr. Herschman spent over 12 years at CRC Health Group where he worked in many operational and clinical roles. Most recently he served as Chief Clinical Officer, and was responsible for the measurement and improvement of clinical services and the research and development of new treatment technologies. He also oversaw the CRC Clinical Advisory Board of distinguished healthcare industry experts.
Before joining CRC in 2002, Dr. Herschman served as Chief Executive Officer of Behavioral Health Concepts, a national mental health management company that he founded in 1993. He also spent eight years with Republic/OrNda Health Corporation where he developed and managed free-standing psychiatric and substance abuse treatment hospitals. Prior to Republic, he served as Regional Vice President of Operations for Horizon Health. Dr. Herschman began his career as a Clinical Psychologist in Southern California where he practiced for 10 years.
Dr. Herschman currently sits on the Board of Directors of Founders Behavioral Health, a substance use disorder treatment company and Restoration, Counseling and Community Service (RCCS), an outpatient provider of therapy services to the criminal justice population, and on the Clinical and Scientific Advisory Board of NOVX Systems Inc., a point-of-collection drug screening solution company. He is a past Board member of Starpoint Health, an outpatient surgery center management company and the California Opioid Maintenance Providers (COMP) association. He holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and a BA from the University of California, San Diego.
