Dr. Simonelli is a board-certified and fellowship-trained specialist in pulmonary medicine. He currently serves as the Chair of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, System Director of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Institute, and Director of Population Health for Geisinger Medical Center.
Dr. Simonelli’s clinical interests include advanced lung disease, COPD, interstitial lung disease and medical leadership. His research interests include population management of COPD/asthma and novel therapies for interstitial lung disease. He attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he received his medical degree, and completed his residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in pulmonary medicine at Columbia University. Dr. Simonelli is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in pulmonary disease.
