Paul Buta is an executive with over 25 years of experience in the USA and Europe. He is currently president of Choiceplex, helping both startups and large companies deploy practical applications of big data to solve healthcare challenges. For the past eight years, he has also taught graduate courses in healthcare marketing at Boston University.
Prior to Choiceplex, he was Vice President of Operations at Dendrite International, the leading provider of sales and marketing solutions to the pharmaceutical industry. Paul was also Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Optas, a privacy-safe marketing services company, where he coordinated the acquisition of Optas by Dendrite. He also has held management roles at Dun & Bradstreet, IMS Health, A.C. Nielsen and Cognitive Systems.
Paul continues both to define and keep pace with emerging techniques to improve data-driven decisions, including machine learning and natural language processing. He is a lead mentor with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Venture Mentoring Service and has helped companies achieve finalist status in the MassChallenge accelerator. As a Certified Information Privacy Professional, he also is the author of the book Privacy Panic.
Paul has both a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MS in artificial intelligence from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also earned an MBA with honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
