Pamela Neri Garabedian, MS is a Project Specialist in the Clinical and Quality Analysis (CQA) department at Partners Healthcare System, Inc. She has been working at Partners since 2008 on numerous research projects in the areas of usability, user interface design, provider satisfaction with EHRs, clinical documentation, electronic medication administration, IT for genetics in medicine, and computerized provider order entry. She has been responsible for developing and managing the user-centered design efforts on these projects including contextual inquiries, participatory design sessions, and usability testing and analysis. Ms. Garabedian has also led these efforts in the development of a CPOE indications-based prescribing prototype. Prior to joining CQA, she worked at the Experience Design Center at Bentley University while completing her graduate degree in Human Factors in Information Design. Here she gained experience conducting usability evaluations and user research in other industries. Simultaneously she worked as an analyst at Bentley in academic operations where she worked to improve and automate business processes using a human factors approach. She is a member of the User Experience Professional Association, American Medical Informatics Association and the Association for Computing Machinery. She has published more than 10 articles on HIT usability and safety.
