Pamela Neely Buffone, Director at Privacy Analytics, now part of IMS Health, has over 10 years’ experience in the field of analytics with industry leaders such as Cognos and IBM. Her career has focused on enabling analytics to be more accessible and easy to use, bringing the value of insight and discovery to more people across industries and domains.
At Privacy Analytics, Pamela leads a team that helps make the risk-based approach to de-identification more consumable to organizations looking to meet the dual needs of data utility and privacy protection of sensitive information. She plans and delivers enhancements to the user experience of Privacy Analytics software with the goal of enabling the analytics of de-identified health care data to support research and health care. Pamela also oversees developing the specifications for the full range of corporate products, and works with clients to incorporate their feedback into valuable products.
Previously, Pamela led several major product initiatives at Cognos, including leading a team through the market launch of Cognos 10, now IBM Cognos Business Intelligence, a software solution that allows collaboration and analysis of real-time information on business operations and performance. Always a trusted problem solver, she has identified and resolved significant challenges ranging from product performance issues to new product envisioning. When Cognos decided to venture into the field of predictive analytics, she was tasked with understanding the market opportunity and developing the business case to acquire SPSS. After Cognos merged with IBM, the Cognos executive team successfully completed the SPSS acquisition for $1 billion dollars. Prior to her work at Cognos, Pamela was a financial and market analyst.
