Nicola is an IBM researcher and writer focusing on the impact of cognitive technologies and their application in the society at large scale and in the life of aging population, persons with disabilities and minorities. He also is deeply involved in studies exploring how to reduce gender gap in STEM careers. He works and live in Boston. He has a deep experience in aging-related scenarios where personal dignity, human needs, business processes optimization and technology converge. He has been solution architect in the team for the IBM 2016 GTO Aging data driven insights and lead the first of a kind IBM project for the Aging Population in the city of Bolzano, Italy. He is member of the Scientific Board of Political Sciences and International Relations at Universita' Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan, former member of the European Commission DG Enterprise and Industry Unit (name Co-operatives, Mutuals, CSR and Support of Tourism Industry) and former member of the ShareExpo Committee, for the 2010-2015 World Wide Expo He is Adjunct Professor in Social Communications at the Universita' Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan. He has been Director of the IBM Europe Human Centric Solution Center till 2014 and within this role his and the work of his team has been awarded two times with the ComputerHonors Award and the Disability Matters - Market Place Award. His work has been keynoted to the European Union summit on Healthy ageing strategies for active older people,
