Mirna Becevic is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri, Department of Dermatology. She holds a Doctorate degree in Health Informatics and a Masters in Health Services Management from the University of Missouri. She completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia College. Her research interests are in improving access to care for rural patients by using healthcare information technology. More specifically, her work examines the use of telemedicine and telehealth technologies for rural and underserved patients. She is the lead evaluator of the Show-Me ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) Project, which is led by the Missouri Telehealth Network at the University of Missouri. There are currently six different specialties that provide telementoring through Show-Me ECHO - pediatric asthma, dermatology, autism, hepatitis C, chronic pain management, and child psychiatry. Dr. Becevic actively collaborates with clinical and research faculty from different disciplines on Project ECHO evaluation and research.
Dr. Becevic presented her work at numerous national and international conferences, including American Telemedicine Association (ATA), American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), International Conference on Informatics and Management in Healthcare (ICIMTH).
