Michael has over 20 years of real estate and investment experience. Michael graduated from the executive training program of The Chase Manhattan Bank in 1989. Michael was an attorney in the corporate/real estate group at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft in New York until 1997 at which time he joined Lehman Brothers Inc. in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group where he managed public equity and debt offerings, mergers & acquisitions and other corporate finance matters principally for public real estate investment trusts. In 2000, Michael became a partner at Fremont Realty Capital, a real estate merchant-banking firm that invested equity capital in real estate projects on behalf of major U.S. corporate pension funds, foundations, banks and insurance companies. In 2005, Michael left Fremont to form and manage a series of investment companies focused on development and redevelopment of gaming and leisure properties in Miami and Las Vegas, all of which have been sold. Michael was twice issued an unrestricted gaming license by Nevada gaming regulators in 2006/7. In 2010 Michael led the purchase of all of the real property assets of a London AIM-listed company in receivership. The assets are located in Taiwan and are in the process of being sold. In 2012 Michael led the purchase of the Nevele Resort in New York, also out of receivership, and is in the process of redeveloping the property into the premier destination sports facility.
