Meredith Zozus

Dr Meredith Zozus is currently Director of Clinical Research Informatics at UT Health Science Center San Antonio.

Prior to this, Meredith had joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in 2016, after an 18-year career at Duke University where she served as the Director of Clinical Data Integration at the Duke Clinical Research Institute and later, the Associate Director for Clinical Research Informatics in the Duke Translational Medicine Institute. Her background in Clinical Research Informatics reaches back over two decades and spans both federal and industry funded clinical studies of all phases including work in drugs, biologics and devices. During Meredith’s tenure at Duke, she has lead informatics and data management efforts on studies spanning secondary analysis studies, retrospective and prospective registries for quality improvement, surveillance and research as well as over 100 clinical trials.

Through her career at the Duke University and more recently in Biomedical Informatics at UAMS, she has both led and been involved in institutional infrastructure development in support of the full spectrum of single and multi-center translational research. In parallel, she led and participated on the teams that develop the curriculum and educate the next generation of clinical investigators, biomedical informatics professionals and researchers.

Meredith’s active research program in Clinical Research Informatics focuses on methods to improve the design, conduct and reporting of clinical studies and especially in the area of data quality in healthcare and health-related research including secondary use of EHR data.
