In the role of Head of Marketing and Product Strategy for the Population Health Management business at Royal Philips, Mason Beard is responsible for accelerating the company’s population health management (PHM) vision and solutions; to help providers and health organizations deliver excellent quality of care and better patient outcomes, all at a lower cost.
Mason co-founded Wellcentive in 2005 after recognizing that the way providers will be paid would change from a volume-based structure to a system that rewards providers based on the value they deliver as measured by cost and quality. The team saw an opportunity for a healthcare IT (HIT) vendor to serve health systems at the enterprise level where their ecosystem consisted of several disparate electronic medical records (EMRs), billing systems and commercial payers. The company became recognized as an industry leader, driving quality improvement, revenue growth and business transformation for providers, health systems, employers, and payers transitioning to value-based care. Philips Wellcentive’s analytics simplify complex data from all points of care, advancing comprehensive care management and payer collaboration. Customers receive more than $500 million annually in value-based revenue by improving outcomes for 30 million patients, using intelligence gained from 1 billion customer data points each month. During his tenure at Wellcentive, Mason held the title of Chief Product Officer and was responsible for product strategy and marketing strategy and execution.
