Mark Thomas is the Director of IS Operations at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago), where he manages staff of fourteen systems and network engineers, desktop administrators, and help desk staff to provide excellent customer service, IT operations, infrastructure implementation, and help desk services to the multi-site healthcare system. Over the past 15 years, Mark has taken on several roles and has implemented infrastructure technologies and healthcare information systems to support RIC Leadership's vision to integrate clinical care and rehabilitation research programs. These include managing the design and deployment of Cisco VoIP telephony system for inpatient hospital, corporate offices and remote clinics throughout Chicago metro region. He also led the technical implementation of RIC's Call Center and Centralized Scheduling project which increased answer rates to 90%, increased outpatient revenue, and improved customer satisfaction. His career has focused on leveraging technology to support business strategy. Mark received an MBA in Finance and Health Informatics from University of Illinois at Chicago Liautaud Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Physics from U.C. Berkeley.
