Mark Snyder is a Board Certified Clinical Informaticist and Infectious Diseases specialist with over twenty years of experience in health IT.
He graduated from Jefferson Medical College and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at George Washington University. As a research fellow at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases he studied the genetic basis of attenuation of live influenza virus vaccines. He then completed his Infectious Diseases training at Johns Hopkins. He practiced Infectious Diseases at Kaiser-Permanente, Mid-Atlantic States where he began his involvement in Health Information Technology eventually serving as the Medical Director for Information Technology and Research. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group. During this time, he was the regional responsible physician for the implementation and optimization of Kaiser’s EHR in the Mid-Atlantic States region. From 2000-2002 he was also Chief of Medicine at Holy Cross Hospital of Silver Spring.
Since 2010 he has been with Deloitte Consulting, LLC where he has worked with a number of large healthcare systems on their EHR implementations and on realizing value from their health IT systems.
He has authored over 30 publications on virology, clinical quality improvement, and physician adoption and use of health IT.
