Kornelius is experienced and dynamic business development professional with experience in creating and identifying strategic for- profit relationships. He manages business strategy, operating budgets and relationships with senior level executives to build profitable relationships, and maintains strong project management and communication skills to manage multifunctional teams and the organization’s strategy. Kornelius has a solid educational foundation including a BS in Chemistry from Morehouse College, MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Masters of Science in Biomolecular Chemistry from Emory University. In 2007, he began his career with Emory University supporting the development of a pharmaceutical startup company, NewCo pharmaceuticals which received $100,000 from the Southeastern Biotechnology Organization business plan competition. Moved onto the GA Dept. of Economic Development where exceeded yearly goals by recruiting 19 international/ domestic companies to Georgia within 3 1/2 years. Managed Georgia’s relationships with the global Life Science and Biotechnology community to increase awareness of Georgia’s universities research portfolio and research infrastructure. Served as the project manager responsible for business recruitment directed toward increasing job growth in Georgia’s Life Science and Biotech sectors. Next Bankston was Program Manager at Morehouse School of Medicine, where he served as the first Program Manager for the Office of Translational Technologies and increased the brand awareness of OTT by developing the first marketing campaign for MSM’s IP at the 2012 BIO International Convention. Developed and implemented protocols to facilitate the in licensing and out licensing of MSM’s IP which led to the negotiations of investigator sponsored research.
