Kathie Powell has served as the CEO of the Petaluma Health Center, a federally-qualified health center serving more than 35,000 patients in northern California, for the past 15 years. The Petaluma Health Center has earned a national reputation for achieving extraordinarily high clinical outcomes through the fine synchronization of its “culture of innovation” and its penchant for technology-facilitated solutions.
Prior to joining the Petaluma Health Center, Ms. Powell served for over 15 years as a health care administrator and national health care consultant. Ms. Powell holds a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Texas Woman’s University, and a Master’s degree in Medical Anthropology from Southern Methodist University. Ms. Powell also serves on the Board of Commissioners of Partnership Health Plan of California, Petaluma Valley Hospital, and the Redwood Community Health Coalition, and has received many recognitions and awards, including the North Bay Business Journal’s “Non-Profit Leader of the Year” and “Women in Business” awards, as well as the State of California Assembly’s “Woman of the Year”, and Petaluma’s “Person of the Year” award.
