Kara Earle is the Drug Diversion Specialist for FairWarning based in Clearwater, Florida and is responsible for identifying and investigating potential drug diversion in customer healthcare facilities throughout the United States. Additionally, Kara is responsible for helping to develop a drug diversion protocol to be implemented in customer facilities to include processes for prevention, detection, investigation, and reporting of drug diversion. Previous experience includes working for the Florida Department of Health Investigative Services Unit (ISU) in St. Petersburg, FL. As a Regulatory Specialist at ISU, her responsibilities included assisting Department Investigators and Inspectors with all aspects of the investigation process as well as assisting Management with day-to-day operations. With a promotion to Investigation Specialist at the ISU, Kara completed multiple establishment inspections in addition to dozens of investigations into licensed healthcare practitioners and establishments in four counties in Central Florida. Investigations ranged from medical malpractice and standard of care complaints to impairment and diversion. Kara has a Bachelor’s degree from Davidson College, a Master’s Degree from the University of Florida in Pharmacy and Graduate Certificate in Pharmaceutical Regulation and Policy and an MBA from Stetson University. She is a member of the Florida Chapter of the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI) where she currently serves as the Media Coordinator.
