Dr. Thacker specializes in surgical management of benign and malignant diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Specifically trained in laparoscopic resection of inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer, she performs a full range of colorectal operations, including reconstructive operations, such as ileal pouches. Her clinical, research, and administrative efforts are all focused on implementing perioperative care practices ensuring best patient outcomes. Bridging specialties to best care for GI surgery patients, she particularly enjoys combined cases. For instance, she regularly operates with the pediatric surgery team on younger patients with IBD or pelvic cancer.
