Jennifer O'Rourke is the Deputy Director in the Office of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Technology for the State of Illinois' Department of Commerce. She leads efforts to develop and enhance the entrepreneurial community across the state while operationally managing the Office's team responsible for a $50 million portfolio of programs and services. O'Rourke is also Director of Public Engagement for the Chicago Blockchain Center where she leads the development, planning and implementation of strategic business partnerships, business development research initiatives, community engagement activities, programming, and capital generation opportunities for startups and enterprises. She has been focused on blockchain development projects since 2016. Prior experience includes Manager of Global Business Development for the CME Group and Analyst work for the Royal Bank of Scotland. O'Rourke is a graduate of the University of Illinois and has a MA of Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of London.
