Dr. Jeffrey Held holds the position of BayCare’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Ambulatory Services. The concept of a CMO of Ambulatory Services is new - not only at BayCare, but also at other hospitals around the nation - as care delivery systems continue to evolve and mature, especially in the ambulatory space.
Jeff was previously Vice President of Physician Services at Mease Hospitals, where he led several system-wide initiatives to improve quality of care and has been an engaged proponent of clinical collaboration and standardization.
Before coming to Mease hospitals, Jeff was a practicing primary physician for ten years at BayCare Medical Group. He has served BayCare as a hospitalist and also as a physician informaticist during BayCare’s massive EHR implementation.
Jeff is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the American University in Washington, D.C., and his medical degree from the University of Florida. The Morton Plant Mease Health Care Foundation awarded him the 2015 Dr. Bernard Macik, Jr., Excellence in Medicine award.
