At Medtronic’s Diabetes, Huzefa Neemuchwala serves as the Head of Innovation for Digital Health responsible for new products, services and business models. Huzefa leads global data and analytics initiatives for Diabetes Service and Solutions– particularly in partnership with IBM Watson, where machine learning, AI and analytics are being used to solve some of the hardest problems in diabetes management such as cognitive mobile personal assistants for diabetics, prediction of hypoglycemia, analytics for integrated patient management and robust predictive bionic pancreas systems. In the past, Huzefa has held both technology and business roles in healthcare informatics at Abbott, Hologic and Fujifilm Medical Systems.
Huzefa earned an MBA from University of California, Berkeley – Haas and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He also earned MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of Michigan, and in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas respectively. Huzefa earned his BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India.
