Heidi Jannenga PT, DPT, ATC/L, co-founder and president of WebPT, the leading electronic medical records software and practice management solution for rehab therapists. In that role, she leads the overall product and company vision, while maintaining a strong focus on fostering a quality company culture and practicing conscious leadership.
Heidi’s passion for physical therapy began with her own successful rehabilitation after suffering a knee injury playing basketball for University of California, Davis. After graduating with a master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, Heidi began a successful 15-plus-year career as a PT, eventually becoming the director of a large, multi-clinic practice in Arizona.
After recognizing the need for a more sophisticated, industry-specific EMR platform, Heidi and co-founder, Brad Jannenga, teamed to develop WebPT. The company, which launched in 2008, provides rehab therapists with intelligent business reporting, interactive and organized scheduling, integrated billing, and comprehensive practice management services and products to help practices run more smoothly and efficiently. Since its launch, WebPT has grown to 300 employees and serves more than 70,000 providers and 9,800 clinics. WebPT has ranked five consecutive years on the Inc. 5000; two years on the Inc. 500; and one year on Deloitte Technology’s Fast 500™. In 2017, Heidi was honored by Health Data Management as one of the most powerful women in IT.
Heidi regularly speaks as a subject-matter expert at technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership events, as well as at national PT industry conferences. She is an active member of the sports and private practice sections of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and an advocate for independent rehab therapy businesses. She was also appointed to the PT-PAC Board of Trustees in 2014, a role that allows her to advocate for the PT profession.
