Eric J Jakel is the Founder & Managing Director of the healthcare consulting firm; LoCoMoCo, Inc. His focus is on the access to and reimbursement of new medical technologies & the development and implementation of Integrated Practice Units, which focus on the highly-coordinated care of specific disease-states.
Eric has been in comprehensive service-line development roles with Covidien (now the Minimally Invasive Therapies Group of Medtronic), since 2007. He has extensive experience with the development and implementation of comprehensive ‘Destination Care Center’ (IPU) models. These Centers focus on patient satisfaction & access, driving clinical referrals, improving financials, pathway & communication standardization, and reducing ‘time-to-treatment’.
Prior to joining Covidien/Medtronic, he spent over nine years in the diabetes and chronic metabolic health industry. Eric has held several roles of escalating responsibility with leading in-vitro diagnostic equipment manufacturers; in Sales, Management, Class-of-Trade Marketing, and Payer Contracting.
Eric is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He earned his BS degree in Marketing & Psychology at Indiana University. He also holds an MBA degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.
