Elana Wells, MPH, CHES is the School-Based Health Manger at the Medical University of South Carolina in the Center for Telehealth. She is responsible for overseeing the administrative components of the program including the development, implementation, and expansion efforts. The MUSC School-Based Health program includes schools participating in the program via telemedicine across the state and brick and mortar school-based health centers in the Charleston area. Elana is also the Co-Chair of the SC School-Based Health Collaborative, which was developed to bring all those involved with school-based health across South Carolina a space to share best practices and explore opportunities for collaboration. Previously serving as the program coordinator for a state-wide childhood obesity prevention education program, Elana has extensive experience working in schools in underserved and rural communities.
Elana earned her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston in Communication Studies and her Master’s in Public Health from the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health. She was selected as a 2015 School-Based Health Alliance Leadership Fellow and is a Certified Health Education Specialist.
