Dwayne Hoelscher, MSN, RN, CPHIMS is the IT Clinical Informatics Manager at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Mr. Hoelscher is a current member of American Nursing Informatics Association and Health Information and Management Systems Society. Mr. Hoelscher started his career as an LVN then progressed to an RN. He received his ADN, BSN, MSN and CPHIMS Certification. Mr. Hoelscher has over 20 years in the nursing profession with experience in emergency, critical and cardiac care, case management, risk management, and informatics. He currently serves on the Safety Assurance Factors for EHR Resilience (SAFER) Guides leadership group to improve the safety of the institutional EHR and the All Hazards Workgroup sponsored by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT. He has also served as technical advisor for the Zika: A Family Affair poster presentation at the 2015 Women's Health Symposium and the 2017 American Nursing Informatics Association annual conference. Mr. Hoelscher is currently the chair of the Institutional Clinical Rules and Alerts Clinical Decision Support committee.
