Duwayne Willett

As CMIO, Dr. Willett strives to ensure the design and implementation of clinical systems at UT Southwestern enhance clinical quality, provider efficiency and patient experience. He also guides design of the health information lifecycle, from data capture in operational systems through efficient extraction into analytic environments supporting the clinical and research missions. He currently serves as Director of the Informatics core for UT Southwestern’s Center for Translational Medicine, with his own team’s work focusing on applied clinical informatics and the application of agile methods to healthcare IT innovation. Dr. Willett holds Master’s degrees in Information Systems and in Healthcare Management, and is board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease and in Clinical Informatics.
