Don Asmonga manages Pew’s health information technology patient safety initiative which aims to improve the safety of electronic health records. Prior to joining Pew, he served as the Vice President for Standards and Government Affairs for Privacy Analytics, Inc. advancing issues related to the de-identification of health information, privacy and health research. Don joined Privacy Analytics after spending 20 years with AHIMA working on privacy, security, standards, and the advancement of health IT through public policy initiatives like HIPAA, HITECH and the Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act. Asmonga received an MBA from Frostburg State University and a BS degree in Economics from Mount Saint Mary's College.
