Derrick Johnson is a Manager in HSS Rehabilitation at the Hospital for Special Surgery, and has spent 7 years as the Rehabilitation Clinical Informatics Coordinator. He manages the operational aspects of several IT initiatives. He is responsible for ordering, planning, procuring, storing, and distributing technology in alignment with the department and hospital's objectives, with a focus on staff satisfaction. He also serves as a liaison between the IT and Rehabilitation departments as an expert in troubleshooting hardware and software problems, assisting users with desktop applications, and providing user training. He continues to serve as a project manager over the device strategy for the Rehabilitation department. He has extensive training in desktop support and received his Associates degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
