Dr. David Ratto is the 1st Chief Medical Information Officer in the Methodist system after his successful implementation of CPOE and EHR system at a 348-bed hospital with 700+ physicians. As Chief of Staff & physician leader in many departments, he is responsible for all applications involving physician use of electronic health records plus MU 3 & HL7 implementation. Dr. Ratto earned his M.D. at UC Irvine & completed his training at LAC-USC General Hospital. He has certifications from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is board-certified in Clinical Informatics, Pulmonary and Internal Medicine. A creative, committed pulmonary/critical care/ hospitalist physician who has pivoted his career to clinical informatics. Dr. Ratto is known for high quality care and multiple awards for cost efficiency and quality. He has contributed to Methodist becoming a 5-star CMS hospital for safety and quality, as well as building the hospital’s California's Antimicrobial Stewardship Program.
