Chris Takahashi is the current Regional Electronic Health Record (EHR) Director for the rural East Hawaii Region of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) comprised of Hilo Medical Center, Hale Ho’ola Medical Center, Ka’u Hospital, and 10 Outpatient Clinics of the Big Island. She is an RN with 32 years hospital clinical experience in Acute, Long Term Care, Outpatient and OR. Fourteen of the 32 years included management as the Director of Surgical Services, which also oversaw ER, Angiography, and Pediatrics. Chris’s working knowledge of the EHR began in 2009 when she was recruited as the Physicians Systems Coordinator that assisted the Physicians in transitioning from paper to an Electronic Health Record (EHR). Chris was instrumental in the success of reaching both HIMSS Stage 6 and Stage 7 in 2013, HIMSS Stage 7 re-certification in 2016 and the HIMSS Nickolas E. Davies Award in October 2015.
