Dr. Bernstein is an Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She received her MD at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Bernstein also completed an Ocular Anesthesia fellowship at Johns Hopkins, as well as a Neurology residency at the University of Maryland, and Pain/EMG and Pain Medicine Fellowships at Louisiana State University and the University of Pittsburgh, respectively.
Her clinical practice focuses on chronic pain management; she has been actively involved in pain medicine research for over a decade. Dr. Bernstein has authored 13 peer-reviewed papers and 17 reviews on topics including fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, and chronic pain management. Her research interests focus on improving the diagnosis and treatment of these painful conditions as well as providing meaningful pain management education that positively impacts future patient care.
