Dr. Carol Robinson has had a varied nursing career in both clinical and administrative leadership positions. Her passion for the care of chronically ill patients and families led her to amass extensive experience with patient/family communications relative to quality of life and treatment preferences. Her scholarly work has focused on communication skills for health professionals, including advance care planning conversations. Her friendly and open approach has helped many individuals create an advance directive reflective of their own personal values, beliefs, and preferences for end-of-life care. Carol is the Community Coordinator for Making Choices Michigan, a West Michigan non-profit organization devoted to encouraging and facilitating advance health care planning by the people of West Michigan. She has also served as an Adjunct Faculty member at Grand Valley State University - Kirkhof College of Nursing.
