Brian Lancaster is a seasoned Healthcare Information Technology executive with over 18 years of experience.
Currently Lancaster is the CIO at Nebraska Medicine and is responsible for the vision, direction, coordination and oversight of the delivery of the highest quality information technology to the enterprise.
Prior to Nebraska Medicine, he was at Cerner and was the executive responsible for the strategy and direction of Cerner’s Population Health Management solutions and business unit. This included registries, risk stratification, scorecards, care management, network management, contract management, performance improvement and evidenced-based content. At Cerner, he had worked in all aspects of the company from consulting, product management, operations and development and have expertise in accountable care, physician adoption, Patient Centered Medical Homes, meaningful use, quality measures, interoperability, data warehousing, mobility strategies and patient engagement.
He is a recognized innovator with 7 inventions awarded patents and an additional 12 inventions awaiting patent approval.
Lancaster has a unique set of skills that combine both provider and vendor experience that includes Epic & Cerner. These experiences are pooled with the knowledge of physician workflow and analytics, which are a critical set of skills for healthcare information technology professionals today as the industry makes the transition from fee-for-service to population health.
