Brian Eastwood is an analyst with Chilmark Research who covers technology that improves patient engagement and the overall patient experience. Brian covers a variety of technology domains; these include telehealth, patient relationship management, health coaching services, evidence-based care plan content, patient communities, direct-to-consumer digital health applications, wearable/fitness technology, and wellness/well-being programs.
His major research reports have examined the market for condition management technology and described strategies for improving patient engagement “beyond the portal.” These reports help healthcare executives understand emerging technologies, identify new market opportunities, prepare for short- and long-term market trends, and make informed purchasing decisions.
Brian previously spoke at HIMSS15 when he led a roundtable discussion called “Beyond Patient Engagement: The Road to Patient Empowerment.” In addition, he spoke at the inaugural Patient Experience Symposium, where he led a pre-conference workshop called “The Next Generation of Engagement” and delivered an educational session called “The Role of Technology in Patient Engagement,” and moderated several panel discussions at past Institute for Health Technology Transformation events (now known as the Health IT Summit series).
