Dr. Elias completed her PhD in Instructional Technology at the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia with a research focus on User Satisfaction with Healthcare Information Systems. Dr. Elias also received a MS in the Management of Information Technology from the McIntire School of Commerce at UVa and a BS in Computer Science from the State University of New York Institute of Technology. Prior to returning to graduate school Dr. Elias worked as a computer systems engineer primarily in healthcare. Her research interests include the effective use of information technology in healthcare such as point-of-care testing devices and electronic medical records. Dr. Elias is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and serves as a co-chair for the TIGER Committee. Dr. Elias has also authored peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and presented at national and international meetings. She has experience teaching informatics at the graduate level.
