Anne Lara is currently the Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer at Union Hospital of Cecil County, Maryland. She is a registered nurse with over 30 years of healthcare experience in both the clinical setting as well as the information technology industry. Previously, she was the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Systems with WellDoc, a mobile health information technology company. Prior to that position, she was the Director of Quality System Management and the Director of Product Management /Engineering with Siemens Healthcare. Before working with Siemens, Anne was the Administrative Director of Radiation Oncology for the Christiana Care Health System, DE and an oncology clinical nurse specialist for Main Line Health. She has successfully implemented programs in the areas of bone marrow transplant, pain management, oncology nursing education, radiation oncology, case management, patient education, and caregiver support, and obtained FDA 510k clearance for medical devices. Anne has been responsible for the development and market launch of software to support clinicians in the areas of critical care, cardiology, oncology, medicine, and the operating room. Her research has focused on the quality of life of cancer patients, competency management, and leadership development. Anne holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Delaware and a Doctorate in Organizational Innovation and Leadership from Wilmington University. She is also a Certified Nurse Educator and a Certified Professional in Health Information Management.
