Andrea is the Director of Clinical informatics at Shawnee Mission Health. She has worked at Shawnee Mission since 2008, and her department oversees the informatics implementation, education and optimization for both nurses and providers. She is also the Meaningful Use coordinator for the hospital. Prior to working in informatics, Andrea worked in ER and ICU and Shawnee Mission, and as a Neuro ICU nurse for 5 years at The Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Currently Andrea serves as the Advocacy Chair for the Heart of America HIMSS chapter board, and sits on the Kansas Hospital Association Health IT Advisory Group. She has an Associate Degree in Nursing, a Bachelors in Management and a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Park University in Parkville, MO. She lives in Overland Park Kansas with her 7 year old son Landon, and loves to follow the Kansas City Royals.
