As Senior Vice President Market and Strategy Development, Adam Welsh works with senior management to assess the addressable market and develop strategies for both organic growth and new market penetration.
Prior to joining Dovel, Welsh was the Managing Partner at KAI Strategy, LLC where he led consulting, strategy, and program delivery engagements leveraging multi-disciplinary teams on complex and high priority client programs. He developed a first-ever maturity model and decision support tool to help the National Cancer Institute and community cancer centers develop effective deployment strategies for oncology-specific electronic health record (EHR) components and worked with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to develop a toolkit for Health IT software sustainability for dissemination to healthcare provider grantees. Prior to joining KAI Strategy, he was the General Manager for Apptis Health Solutions business unit managing and delivering Health IT services to clients across the Federal health continuum worldwide.
Welsh is a recognized leader across the Health IT and patient safety domains and having served on several national committees and Boards including the Maryland Technology Council Board of Directors, Chair of the Maryland Technology Council Health IT Advisory Committee, the National Health Information Technology Collaborative for the Underserved, National Patient Safety Foundation’s Corporate Council, Consumers Advancing Patient Safety, American Medical Group Association’s Results Based Payment Initiative, and Vice Chair for the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Government Relations Roundtable.
Welsh holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Vermont and an MBA from Babson College.
