Uniting and Standardizing Healthcare Provision Across Dubai

11:30am - 12:30pm Wednesday, February 13
Orlando - Orange County Convention Center
W303A

Description

This session outlines the processes used to transform the Emirate of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates into a leading healthcare destination by fostering innovative and integrated care models and by enhancing community engagement. Our EMR is integrated with other government departments and hospitals in Dubai including Dubai police, Dubai ambulance service and Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital. This allows for continuous patient care but also pre-identifies patients requiring transfer to a tertiary facility. The EMR was implemented across Dubai to effectively manage the healthcare requirements of the population and to provide a platform for implementation of new, innovative technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence and interoperability.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the benefits of an electronic medical record in providing innovative care
  • Assess how the international evidence is used as the basis for the changes in clinical practice and culture across healthcare
