The CARIN Alliance is a non-partisan, multi-sector alliance convened by David Blumenthal, David Brailer, Aneesh Chopra, and former Secretary Mike Leavitt in 2016 to unite industry leaders in advancing consumer-directed health information exchange. The vision of the organization is to rapidly advance the ability for consumers and their authorized caregivers to easily get, use, and share their digital health information when, where, and how they want to achieve their goals. Its members comprise individuals and organizations from across the health care ecosystem including: patients, caregivers, providers, hospitals, payers, EMR companies, and health IT application companies and is managed by Leavitt Partners.

Recent administration announcements such as the “My HealthEData” initiative and Apple’s announcement to aggregate health information to their mobile device using open standards are focused on solving interoperability and data liquidity issues across the health care ecosystem to advance person-centric value-based care. We will discuss the impact of these new innovations on the health care industry including the power of the consumer as an informed stakeholder.

This session is part of a special program called Consumerism of Health. Extra fees and separate registration is required.
